SS4 – Latvala claims the stage win

20 maio 2016

Despite a morning of troubles and continued disappointment with the setup of his Polo WRC, Volkswagen Motorsport’s Jari-Matti Latvala took the win on the final stage of the morning’s loop, completing in 11:27.1s.

Abu Dabhi World Rally Team’s Kris Meeke was the second fastest through stage, losing out to Latvala by just 0.2s. However, while he missed out on a third stage win, he still resides in the top spot over all with a commanding 11.5s lead.

Hyundai Motrosport’s Dani Sordo also put in an impressive time, completing the stage third fastest, crossing the finish 0.6s slower than Latavala.

Current Champion, Sebastien Ogier, found the final stage of the morning to be a struggle, finishing 8th fastest, stating that the loose gravel was making the stage incredibly slippery.

In WRC2, Skoda Motorsport’s Pontus Tidemand continues to lead with a 35.2s lead, while Nicolas Fuchs is in second position gap. M-Sport World Rally Team’s Elfyn Evan is in third.
