Rally World Championship Twist
2027 calendar does not include the Portuguese round
A last-minute change forces a break in the presence of one of the most iconic rallies in the World Championship, with a return in 2028 being considered.
The Vodafone Rally de Portugal had already been scheduled for 13–16 May, following changes made by the WRC promoter on the final day of preparations for the next season of the World Rally Championship (WRC), with the aim of making the calendar as geographically diverse and intercontinental as possible. Portugal was one of the events affected by the changes.
Initial discussions have already taken place between the Automóvel Club de Portugal and the WRC promoter to assess the possibility of the Vodafone Rally de Portugal returning to the World Rally Championship in 2028.
